In 2000, I put together a collection of illustrated essays entitled Summit Airs – a mish-mash of mountaineering stories, environmental pieces, and Rockies history, illustrated with contemporary and archival photographs. Written between 1983 and 1998, many of the essays had appeared in the Canadian Alpine Journal, but no publisher wanted the collection. This year, Mountain Vision plans to offer an e-book version of the project for iPad, including essays written since 2000.
